Introduction to HydraFacials

Healthy-looking skin is not always about correcting one specific concern. Dryness, congestion, uneven texture, and dullness can all affect the way your complexion looks and feels. HydraFacial combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and customized serums in a single treatment designed to refresh the skin without significant downtime.

At Evan Jones, MD, in Bala Cynwyd, PA, our aestheticians customize HydraFacial treatments based on each patient’s skin and individual goals. We welcome patients from the Main Line and greater Philadelphia area who are looking for a gentle, personalized approach to maintaining smoother, brighter, and more hydrated skin.

What Is a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial is a state-of-the-art treatment that can be performed on the face or on the back of the hands. This relaxing treatment can revitalize the skin and give it a rosy, radiant glow.

The HydraFacial is designed to address numerous types of skin imperfections, including fine lines, rough skin, and dullness. It achieves results by combining gentle exfoliation (hydradermabrasion), deep hydration, impurity extraction, pore cleansing, and serum infusion.

HydraFacial technology applies water-based hydration, gentle vacuum pressure, a light chemical peel (typically with either glycolic or salicylic acid), lymphatic drainage, and customized serums, all through a HydroPeel tip. This spiral tip uses a vortex-like technique to create pressure that removes impurities from the skin.

The serums are infused deep into the patient’s skin for rejuvenation from the inside out. These serums are tailored to achieve each patient’s skincare goals and typically include antioxidants, peptides, and many other nutrients.

Which Skin Issues Can Be Treated with a HydraFacial?

A HydraFacial can address numerous skin issues:

  • Fine wrinkles
  • A dull complexion
  • Sun damage
  • Hyperpigmentation issues like age spots
  • Oiliness
  • Mild sagging

The Consultation

During a HydraFacial consultation, you’ll meet with a skincare expert at our Philadelphia clinic.

  • The skincare expert will ask you about your needs and goals for your HydraFacial.
  • They will carefully examine the skin of the treatment area, evaluating the skin issues targeted for treatment.
  • They will ask questions about past treatments, current medications, allergies, and any underlying health issues.
  • The skincare expert will work with you to design your ideal HydraFacial. They will explain every step of the process and answer any questions you may have.

The Treatment Session

HydraFacial sessions are performed by an expert aesthetician at our clinic and usually take around half an hour. They are very comfortable and soothing.

First, a warm towel is placed over the treatment area. Next, the HydraFacial handpiece is used to deliver deep hydration to the skin. Impurities are extracted, the superficial chemical peel is applied, and the chosen serums are applied. Once every step of the process is complete, the treatment is finished.

Combining a HydraFacial with Other Treatments

HydraFacial treatments can be paired with dermal fillers and BOTOX treatments to create even more youthful-looking results. When pairing these treatments, it’s key to deliver injectables after the HydraFacial. HydraFacials can cause product migration, which can negatively affect results. If injectables must be delivered first, wait at least two weeks before following them with the HydraFacial.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are products injected into moderate and harsh wrinkles like the nasolabial folds, parentheses lines, and marionette lines. They can also be injected into areas where volume has decreased, such as the cheeks, jawline, and temples. This creates instant new volume, reducing the appearance of these aging-related issues.

BOTOX

BOTOX Cosmetic injections allow for targeted reduction of fine wrinkles like crow’s feet, vertical lines between the brows, and horizontal forehead wrinkles. These neuromodulator injections block nerve signals to the overworked facial muscles, allowing them to relax. The skin above these muscles also relaxes, helping it regain a flatter, smoother appearance.

After a HydraFacial

Your Guide to Post-HydraFacial Care

No recovery time or downtime is needed after a HydraFacial treatment. Patients can get right back to their daily activities and apply makeup immediately after the session.

Patients may experience minor redness after their HydraFacial session, but it will be temporary and fade quickly. Patients will not need to deal with any peeling in the treated areas.

How Much Does a HydraFacial Cost in Philadelphia, PA?

When it comes to HydraFacials, cost varies according to each Philadelphia patient’s needs and goals. Price can be impacted by the severity of the skin issues being treated, the types of issues being addressed, and the specific serums included in the patient’s treatment.
