Open rhinoplasty involves a small incision across the tissue between your nostrils (columella).

Do not blow your nose for at least the first week, as this can damage the newly formed, delicate internal structures and significantly interfere with your recovery.

Avoid exercise for the first couple of weeks, as this will interfere with your healing process. You should also take a few days off work to give yourself plenty of time to recover. Most of the swelling will go away within 3-6 weeks, but mild swelling can continue for up to one year. This swelling will not be noticeable to others, but the results may not be finalized until then.
